I shrieked aloud, yet he wouldn't stop pulling my hair.

Fight and flight reflexes kicked in suddenly, but I restrained myself. Looking at my baby, I just had to be calm.

He went close to the car and began to groan. My powers failed me; I wanted to shift but I couldn't, so I ran to him and grabbed my baby.

He laughed at me, and his laugh became deeper, revealing his dirty tobacco-stand yellow teeth.

He brought out my bag. There was nothing I could do; my baby was all that mattered to me. He brought out the brown envelope that my mom gave me that contained her last savings. I sat on the ground with my baby tightly tugged to my chest.

"Please, sir, that's the money my mom gave me to take care of my baby. If you take the money, my baby and I will starve to death."

"Please, sir." I held him on his legs while kneeling down and begging him to at least leave a little for us.

He took all the money in the envelope, brought out the other bags, and threw them to me while he drove away.
