Chapter Nine

He gave me water, but I grabbed another one from the table. He threw the remaining pancakes into his mouth and stood up.

"Don't forget the dress; you need it for tonight. The servants will take care of the children all day; if you want them to, I know you would love to take them along to shop for the clothes. So I selected some guards for you; take them along."

He went over to them, then bent and said, "Give Daddy a kiss."

They kissed him, then he stood up. They kept waving at him till he went out of the door. After we finished eating, I offered to help, but the servants would not let me. So I just took my twins to our room.

After I taught them for a few minutes, they started to practice their math by themselves. I kept watching them, then I fell asleep.

I was woken by a loud knock on my door. I thought that it was Shantel checking to see if he could give us anything, but when I opened the door, I saw Ann, who had a big frown on her face.
