Chapter Ninety-Eight

Ana pov

The bell started to ring as we were talking, and Joe touched Hayden's hand.

"I know I do not say this very often, but I am proud of you."

Hayden looked like he was going to have a heart attack from the face he was making. I guess his father has never said something like this to him.

"Your grandchild must be rubbing off on you for you to talk about being proud of anybody."

Joe scoffed but said, "Maybe?"

I wanted to laugh, but I did not want to interrupt a father-son moment, so I held it in.

We heard a knock on the door, and Hayden stood up immediately and rushed to the door, but when he looked at me, it was like he caught himself. He was not wearing a shirt, but that was normal for male wolves; they hardly wore shirts since their bodies were always hot, but then I was wearing a nightgown since I was not going anyway today, and he was giving me a look that meant, Go change.

"Who is it?"

"Doctor Joel and two nurses, go get dressed."
