As they approached, the wide road began to divide into elaborate streets and corners with houses... Black dwelling places that looked like they sprouted out of the ground, flawlessly designed. It couldn't have been made of tar as it was too polished and looked breezed, but neither could it have been made of wood, as it was not the color of wood.... Maybe spray painted wood? 

Looking to Anna, she asked, "What are the houses made of?"

"A special material."

"Oh."

As Eleanor continued to look at the houses, she spotted something up ahead that caused her to pause, frown and look again. As they came closer, her eyes widened. The grandest mansion she had ever seen. It looked like it was spun out of pure gold. A building draw out of the Egyptian's architecture plan .
