29) Everything Jay hasn't lost

Lila stretched her overly tired back and hummed in satisfaction as she laid down on the top of her freshly made bed, taking a deep breath the exhausted Beta settled in to enjoy her very precious, rare silent moment when her phone began to cry like an angry child in her pocket. Groaning and fishing the small device from her pants, Lila worried her eyebrows together when Jay’s name popped up on the screen. The Beta took a deep breath before answering, “Jay, good to hear from you,” she said in a calm tone and smiled when the hunter laughed nervously, “Ed made it home safe, but I have a few questions about my truck,” she continued and Jay began to stutter, “well you see Beta, it umm, well, there was this uhh--.” Lila started to laugh low in her throat, “don’t worry yourself too much about it Jay, Ed explained most of what happened and as long as you Moxie and Mj pay for repairs or replacement you won't be punished by the Alpha or myself any further, ok?”
