Mj was mindful of the eyes on her as she left the main dining hall, but was more concerned with the fact that Talia had basically said she was already aware Mj was Dante’s mate. That meant they had done an absolutely horrible job of covering it up in just the first few hours of meeting. Mj found herself stumbling through the maze of walls and people as the dream with Theron rekindled in her mind, and her breath caught in her throat as she found herself once again at the main dining hall. “Mj,” she heard Sam’s jovial voice sing over the dispersing breakfast crowd and as the assassin's eyes began to adjust the outraged blur of Dante’s face appeared before her. He planted his thumbs in the center of her rib cage, cupping her midriff, and shoved her entire person out the door. “You are keeping him in your building,” he yelled, and Mj shook her head as she squinted at him. “Fuck off,” was all she said before side stepping the enraged male and addressing the growing eyes around her. “Alpha,” she barked as Azreal appeared in the doorway, followed by Talia, “as soon as you give the word we will begin the last stage of the interview,” she announced and once again Dante seized her by the arm, “you can’t head an interview,” he began, and she jerked herself free from his gras

Jay swerved in his lane for what seemed like the thousandth time while attempting to monitor his sister in the back seat. Mj spent the first few hours of their drive to Lowder staring out the window before she finally slipped off into a sound sleep. Moxie nudged Jay, “eyes on the road sher, I doubt the Alpha gone give us another truck we fuck this one up yea?” he laughed and Jay only smirked before readjusting his hold on the wheel. Moxie watched Jay chew on his lip and against every thought screaming in his mind the half feral man slowly reached up and gave the guy he loved a few reassuring strokes on the back of his neck, “don’t worry amore, they will find their way,” he purred and as Moxie slowly tried to retract his palm Jay quickly captured his open palm between his shoulder and jaw. Jay squeezed Moxie’s hand and the swamp wolf grinned as he began to once more stroke his lover's cheek with the pad of his thumb, “I really hope so Mox,” he mumbled before glancing in his side mirror

As the hunters pulled up to the building, Mj once again wasted no time in jumping out before she ran toward a noisy familiar truck idling in what was now a parking lot. As Mj approached the old rusty pickup, Lou squeezed himself out of the cab and gave her a quick hug before walking straight up to Dante, who was pulling himself out of the back seat of Ace’s SUV. Dante looked up at Lou and as he started to smile, the larger man grabbed Dante by the shirt and started pounding into his face with the free one. Dante let his hands hang lifelessly at his sides as Lou continued his relentless attack. Jay and Moxie immediately jumped on each of the flesh-covered tree trunks Lou called arms and began trying to peel the two of them apart. As Mj reached the door to her old but new apartment, a quizzically evil thought crossed her mind and she kicked the door open with one powerful thrust. Both John and Pepper were sitting at the table and when the door slammed against the wall, John shot out of his chair, knocking over the contents of his glass and Pepper dove beneath the dinner table. Mj waltzed in, holding her gut as she laughed and Moxie followed with his own small series of chuckles. Ace and Dante held the beef up on their shoulders as Jay brought up the rear and attempted to close the door that now seemed like it never would have fit in the first place. “You cracked the door,” Jay yelled and Mj only waved her hand, “get maintenance to fix it,” she casually answered as she smirked and got down on her hands and knees as she approached the table. Mj eyed Ed as he slipped back into the apartment, and all the old hunter did was give her a sad smile. She glanced at Ace, who seemed to be chastising Pepper in the kitchen, and she turned to Jay and Moxie as they picked up steaming cups of coffee, “lovers quarrel,” she asked quizzically and Moxie spat hot coffee all over Jay’s arm as all the color drained from Ace’s face. “Something like that, little sister,” Ed hummed as Dante slithered back into the apartment.
