Chapter 80: Confession

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves when I finally arrived home. Pericles and I were supposed to go directly to the office when our conversation in the car led to another.

Since I had given him my word, I told him to drop me at the house instead and that he must go to the office first without me.

Pericles couldn't hide the satisfaction on his face when he gave me a proud look after dropping me off the car.

Weirded by the stare he gave me, I turned around and ignored him instead.

My palms turned sweaty, and my heart started beating erratically in my chest as I faced the mansion where Lucrezia and I lived.

I still haven't entered yet. I still haven't seen Lucrezia or opened my mouth to say what I had to say. Yet, I'm already feeling so nervous, as if I were going to the police to confess that I'm a murderer.

I never thought that this would be a big deal to me, not until I was already standing here.
