Agrippa stared at me with her brows knotted together. She searched into my eyes, but all she saw was stubbornness and determination. She opened her lips about to argue, but only a sigh escaped her mouth.

A hint of regret flashed momentarily in her eyes. She must have regretted inviting me to come with her. Not only did I have to witness how things went between her and her in-laws, but she also put me in a risky situation.

Don Leuzzi and I almost got into a heated argument that would have placed the mafias into war. Agrippa wouldn't help but feel responsible if something like that happened.

After all, it was she who pulled me into this.

"Let him be," Agrippa spoke calmly. "You already saw how the conversation went. There is no point in trying to talk to him again." Agrippa grabbed my hand and tried to drag me from her behind, but I stood firm on my ground and harshly pulled my arm from her.
