CHAPTER 10

TINA

I bowed and sat outside the funeral home where we took Mom.

I closed my eyes and burst into tears as I remembered everything that had happened to Mom and me.

Her sobs and tears were filled with grief.

Oh my God.

Why is this still happening to us?

What is our mistake that they treat us this way?

To Sheena, Mom, and I.

I'm at a loss for what to do now, especially since my mother is no longer alive and Sheena is still missing; I'm not even sure how Sheena will react when she learns that our mother is no longer alive.

She would be the most affected of the two of us because I knew my mother had been with her entire life, teaching her the things she needed to know.

So I had to find Sheena right away because I promised Mom we'd get out of here.
