Ashina's Quest: Chapter 42
Conri's POV
Letting go of her hand was one of the hardest things to do. I walked back to the room the clinic staff put us in to wait for updates. There is a phone in there that has a direct line to the surgical suite. When I got there, I was met with nothing but long faces. I said, "Really guys? I honestly don't think I can take eight hours of this heavy feeling." Luna Abby said, "That's how long it could take?" I nodded my head. I said, "he said that it's such a delicate surgery, he has to move very precisely. If he moves too quickly, or jerks his hand even a millimeter, he could paralyze her." When we got to the dungeon, I realized, there was no way for me to go by myself. Conri carried me in one hand and my chair in his other until we were at the bottom of the steps. "Oh dear," I said, "A bunch of ingrates. No worries. You won't have to worry about space for long. So, who wants to be the first to talk? I will make sure those who talk will die the fastest. Those who remain stubborn will have slow and agonizing deaths." I looked in the cell farthest down this row. I said, "I'm going to take this cell-by-cell.
