Carmella stood behind Maria while she knocked on the queen’s door.
She could feel her heart beating behind her fear, her hands trembled behind her veil and she placed her hands under them, she couldn’t get her eyes off Maria who stood right in front of her backing her while knocking on the door.
The gentle mode with which Maria knocked on the door made Carmella very uncomfortable, she wondered if she was scared of hurting the door.
