Chapter 1

EXACTLY when the sun was setting Jon was there on Christine Boulevard. He wondered why there were not many people in the place.

“Good afternoon, Christine!” he greeted. His body met the sunlight. "You look beautiful today, dear." his voice was sad even though he was smiling. He couldn't fix himself to look better.

He left the suitcase near the big rock. He approached the sea and where he was he raised both hands. He spun around and felt the sunlight like a kiss. He feels special. He smiled sadly. It was the worst pain he felt—because from his mother he loved the most.

He stopped from spinning. When he comes here, he will feel less sadness and pain. It was a miracle that happened. He would just raise his hands and turn them around until he felt that somehow the deep sadness in his feelings was released.

"I feel like a young child, a loser!" he confessed. In fact, he felt more than that and even his voice could say. Then he said, "Christine, I beg you to help me. Please heal my pain!” Jon shouted it out loud.

They said pain and problems would be reduced when you shout it out loud anytime and anywhere. Jon followed that belief this time. He took the risk that the remaining pain in his body would disappear. He hoped so.

From a distance there was a woman watching him.

He spread his hands again and this time he did not spin around. His hands were like the wings of birds that want to fly high and bring the pain in the sky and leave it there. If only he could have done it. Jon felt someone was watching him. This woman, from a distance, smiled like she admired him. She walked and drew near from him.

"She loves you." The stranger spoke up. "Christine, right?"

Her voice chased his attention. He slowly turned around to face the one who spoke. When he saw it, his eyes seemed to shine and could not be turned away.

She's beautiful, he thought, admiring the woman.

"A-are you Christine?" he stuttered and felt uneasy. He didn't know why he asked that suddenly. Then he realized what he did was shameful.

The woman laughed.

"I'm sorry." he scratched the back of his neck. "I'm just—"

She stopped him by raising her hands, and smiled gorgeously.

The woman approached him. The obsessive smile did not disappear from his lips. "It's okay. Maybe Christine is so beautiful like how you imagined her.”

He smiled shyly. Maybe the woman thought Christine was a real person.

"No. I mean... Christine is not a person. She's a place." he clarified.

The woman's eyes widened. “Oh.”

He scratched the back of his neck again. “She's Christine Boulevard. This place," he explained, embarrassed. "I called it by myself."

Somehow his sadness was reduced. It was because of her.

Maybe the woman thinks he's up to something. The woman's smile grew. Laughed at that edition too.

She laughed. "I really thought she's a beautiful woman. But this place is so beautiful.”

The woman passed him and she faced the setting sun. "She's really beautiful. Christine Boulevard is beautiful.”

He also stood next to the woman. They both enjoyed the beauty of the scenery. "You said it right," he agreed.

She nodded at what he said. "Frances Perez is my name, yours?"

Jon froze. He didn't know if he would say his name to this stranger. He just didn't want this strange woman to recognize him.

"Jony Guevara," he simply answered out of respect for the beautiful woman. He thought, it's okay because the girl is beautiful.

He spoke again, "Frances is a beautiful name."

He saw that she turned her gaze to him. He also looked at her. It seemed as if the woman's lips attracted him. But he controlled himself. A woman can't just kiss him. It would be a big mistake. Although, his mind couldn't stop the thought of kissing him. She is stunning and composed. There is no man who cannot fall in love with this kind of woman. So he, he restrains himself.

And he would agree to the fact that this woman beside him is an ideal type of a wife. She's totally a goddess. He wanted to kiss her lips, he wanted to hug her body tightly, and he wanted to have sex with her. How dare him think like that to an innocent woman. But despite his mind, he did not agree with what he wanted. He cursed himself for thinking that to her. How dare him? He suddenly became a pervert.

"Common name," she said with disgust in her voice.

From what Jon could hear, he knew there were people like that, who didn't like his real name. Although the name Frances is very beautiful.

Jon laughed. "It's not."

Its name is not really ugly from any perspective.

"How could you say that?" can't believe it.

"It's my first time hearing your name." He looked at her wearing his smile. An amused smile that he hid for seconds.

The disbelief showed in her face. "That's weird of you."

He did not answer this. The surroundings became quiet again. But Jon's heart, he didn't know how to silence it despite what he was going through. He cussed again himself.

I think I like this woman, he said in his mind. And leave a smile.

HE PLANNED TO KIDNAPPE FRANCES. It was eight o'clock in the evening and in the middle of a beautiful breeze in the middle of the blue sea, his wife was sleeping soundly. He is riding on an expensive yacht. His wife didn't know about the surprise because he told her that he wouldn't go home and would only come back at ten p.m. already. There he had his wife kidnapped from their house and taken to El Grande Beach Resort.

He was now with his wife on the yacht while she was still unconscious. How lucky was he for surprising her? He didn't know when he would wake up but he knew what to do next when he woke up.

"I'm sorry darling for doing this." He refers to her kidnapping violently. It was just part of a plan to make his wife think that it really happened. He smiled at his wife. He caressed her hair.

Jony looked at the sky. Because the weather is beautiful. Because the scenery is beautiful. The ocean is also calm. Frances was as awake as she was still sleeping.

They both side by side while lying down. Frances rested her head on his arm.

"You're like a calm sky, my darling..." he calmly whispered as his eyes savored the sky. He had no intention of waking up his sleeping wife. He just waited for her to wake up. "So with every smile and tenderness you give me, my heart immediately calms down." He caressed her hair again. A simple smile appeared on his lips. "Because it feels good to look at your calm face my darling in this position and time."
