SARAH

Before the priest, I stood. Before the priest, he stood. Before the priest we both stood, facing each other as we listened to him.

No friends, and no one to cheer us on.

It wasn't the type of wedding I always dreamed about, but it was better than marrying Anthonio, and I was going to be with the man that I loved.

"Do you, Sarah, take this man, Leo, to be your lawful, wedded husband, to live together in the holy state of matrimony?."

The priest asked, his eyes glued to the note in his hands.

"Do you promise to love, honor, and cherish him, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, for better or for worse, until death do you part?"

I took a deep breath and nodded.

"Yes, I do."
