“Alex?” Josh called the emotions in his tone causing Alex to jolt awake.
What was happening? Why was Josh looking straight at him and holding him up? Why could he move his tongue around and actually taste something even if it was the wretched morning breath?
“You can see me?” Alex choked, the lack of moisture causing his voice to scratch at his throat. His fingers twitched slightly, getting him to look down at them, the shock finally setting in.
I have hands!
Whilst still staring down at his bony fingers, Josh had managed to retrieve a glass of water, passing it to Alex who stared at it, his gaze bewildered. He then looked up at Josh who slowly had a smile spreading onto his face.
The glass of water looked so tempting, his mouth calling out for any liquid but alas his hands sat on his lap, utterly useless. He couldn’t even communicate his problem to Josh since his voice had no vigor.
Despite that, he co
Josh sniffled, the sound the only thing to cut through the awkward silence floating about in the room. Alex was minding his own business; glad he had the bowl of soup in his hands to keep him from sitting idle. Although it didn’t do much to simmer the tense atmosphere.Xavier stood in the corner of the room, back against the wall, eyes piercing into Alex’s soul all whilst the person in question played a blind man. Josh on the other hand looked to combust at any second, the laughter held within making itself known at times only to be covered up by a few measly coughs.Really Alex wished the soup would never finish cause one, it deflected him from even more awkward, and two, it was fucking delicious as expected. But alas, he could only scoop so much of the drops with the spoon before Josh flew to grab the bowl and was out like the flash.Top ten betrayals right there. Now Alex had nothing to do but stare at his hands, his feet shifting uncomfort
Taking a shower never felt so amazing. Having been restricted to a bed for several weeks has really brought a new sense of appreciation for a lot of things. Like hot showers, Alex already greatly appreciated them but it’s definitely been doubled. Also, how he’s able to walk, walking feels amazing and so is standing.Alex turned the faucet stopping the flow of water, sighing a bit, wishing he could stay there for a bit more but it’s been hours and his fingers were long past the pruning stage. Josh was also kind enough to make him something to eat as a tribute for the assholery portrayed earlier.Alex stepped out of the shower, the freezing air beating at his exposed skin, a shiver snaking way into his body. He grabbed the towel hanging not too far before wrapping it around himself and moving to the sinks. He let out yet another sigh, really feeling good. God moving felt so fucking nice. He took his hand through his wettened strands, enjoying the
Alaster wasn’t lying when he said that Alex would actually start training. However, Alex hadn’t received the memo that it’d start at four in the morning! The sun wasn’t even up, yet there Amber was, looming over his drunken form laying comfortably on the couch. “Rise and shine,” She said, Alex blinking multiple times, gazing at her in disbelief. Rise and shine? Rise and shine! There wasn’t even any sun! Alex could barely comprehend if it were even morning. Amber didn’t seem to back down even after the many times Alex tried to delete her presence entirely, hopefully trying to resume his sleep. He didn’t sign up for this shit, no fucking way. Not even school forced them up this early. Amber sighed, Alex hoping he’d achieved victory. Her footsteps loudly shuffled away and just before Alex could sink in anymore, her voice boomed in his head, scaring away all his sleep. “It’d be a shame if Xavier knew.” Oh, the smugness in her tone just sent Alex on edge,
One, two ten times was Alex thrown to the ground, his back having numbed from both the cold and all the force he had to take. What part of the training was this? This was just blatant bullying. And it didn’t help that Amber was the one to inflict this torture. At least if it were Bianca then he’d understand seeing as they obviously had some bad chemistry but Amber… She was supposed to be the nice one.Alex pulled himself up for the hundredth if not thousandth time now, honestly, he’s just lost, count. He held onto his aching arm, staring at amber with hooded eyes as she stood there. Deathly still. The deal was that he was supposed to tag her at least once. This was to test his skills or some shit but then again, this was just harassment. They were vampires, even if he were Usain bolt, there was no way he’d get a finger on her.She did say she wouldn’t use her vampire powers. As if he’d believe that bullshit. Since they&
Stalking out the toilet still feeling like utter dog shit, Alex let out a yawn, peering up at Luca who, just, wow. He really knew how to make a man wish for death.Since arriving in this madman-infested slaughterhouse, Alex only ever came to know of Amber’s powers but now Luca has decided to introduce his and god was it an annoying one.The sheer pain Alex felt when waking up to the sight of Xavier angrily peering down at him like he was no different from that rogue vampire was enough to give one nightmares. And that’s exactly what Alex had to go through when he’d woken up, still too dazed to realize he was actually awake.Even after fully waking himself, he was frozen to the couch, the intensity of the spiteful stare again, summoning hell on earth for Alex. It was not until he heard glass shatter that he saw Luca standing there, smiling like all was well whilst Alex was just about to start panicking.“Wah—" Alex mumbled out,
After that incident, the rest of the session went smoothly. Well, maybe that was a bit of a stretch. After all, nothing beats back pains, foot throbs and death glares, right?Alex finally placed the gun down, heaving a sigh wishing it would end already. His forehead was on fire, his feet were about to drop him and god did it feel like someone was bashing him with a cane.Griffin was looking away so Alex could finally slump his back, something that Griffin was so keen to go against the entirety of the lesson. He also leaned on the table, wondering where everything went wrong. Was he seriously in the middle of a forest getting gunning lessons from two vampires? If someone had told him this before, no, nobody could even cook up crazy shit like this.He was with Vampires!“Are we done?” Alex asked, desperately turning to Luca who was much more approachable than the disturbed cat brooding in the corner. Luca tilted his head a bit, analyzin
Alex held his smile, watching as Xavier took his gaze back down to the bunny, giving it another long stare. He seemed hesitant, Alex stepping closer so that the space between them wasn’t so wide.He still had had his arms outstretched, Xavier finally taking hold of the animal. His hand slowly felt its fur, his head tilting. As microscopic as it was, Alex was able to make out the slight tug at the corner of Xavier's lips, dare he say a smile present in his features? To say Alex was blessed at the moment would be an understatement. He was beyond blessed. He had to take a deep breath to control the emotions spiralling within him, his arm covering up the blush creeping onto his face. The view of Xavier, someone so big and quite intimidating, gingerly holding something so small and delicate in his large hands made for quite the view. The clouds had cleared getting the soft orange rays to coat Xavier in its magnificent halo. It looked surreal; Alex unsure whethe
Alex let out a yawn, hand supporting his head. He sniffled, eyeing the empty whiteboard sitting ahead of him. Day 3 and he was glad to say that he liked the change in scenery. Although he was in a class, it definitely bested the wonders of nature. He was still in his shorts and shirt, barefooted as well, but he’d take smooth concrete for gravel and razor-sharp stones anytime. Alaster, placed down the book he was holding, pushing himself off the desk he was leaned against. Alex watched, well at least he tried with the minimal sleep he got. As much as he wished he could’ve drifted off like sleeping beauty or some shit, he couldn’t. The scene from the previous day continuously thundering in his thoughts, getting him anything but relaxed. Something about the whole thing just made no sense. He desperately wanted to brainwash himself into thinking Xavier had no interest in him. That instance, however, had just gone and messed shit up for him. Lines h
