“You did good today,” Griffin said, Alex internally celebrating since his body was incapable of any movement. He took shallow breaths, controlling each one as to not strain his constricted chest. There was a pain sauntering through his body yet he couldn’t tell where it came from.

However, Griffin’s words of praise were enough to bundle all of his sufferings and throw them off into the distance. He never thought the day would come where he was actually acknowledged by the thorn princess as Josh likes to call him.

Alex let out a sigh, staring up at the bleary grey sky, heavy rain clouds rolling by darkening their surroundings. A thunderstorm would most likely sweep by which worried Alex. Josh despised of them to the greatest degree, a pained memory surfacing in Alex’s thoughts he’d much rather keep buried. Low rumbles of thunder erupted off in the distance, a strong gust of wind passing by.
