Kyas POV After that extremely vivid dream with Athena, I started to feel very warm. I could still smell a nice lavender and fresh flower smell. I start to feel my body respond to me. I open my eyes. My senses are all hit with the beautiful smell tenfold while I start to take in my surroundings. Above me I see a plain white ceiling ‘I must be in a hospital’ I thought recognizing the familiar sounds of hospital machines. Flowers brushed against my cheek as I tried to sit up. ‘Oh my!!’ I said to myself as my eyes grew wide at the sight of the ginormous flower bouquet before me. I inhaled deeply loving the calming fragrance everywhere! I ran my hands through my hair and it was silky smooth. No mats or tangles. Just long smooth lovely locks. ‘I’ve never been given flowers before, I wonder if the hospital puts these in everyone’s room? What a lavish place…’ I thought admiring the flowers and sticking my face deep into the middle of them. With a large inhale I felt calmness wash over my
Max’s POV The doctor and I looked at each other in amazement as the girl we had just spoken of sat up from her hospital bed. “I thought you said 1-2 more days doctor?” I whispered. “It’s a miracle..” the doctor replied wide-eyed staring at Kya with his mouth agape. “Her-her eyes they…” the doctor started stuttering. “We must protect her….we must take this gently and allow her to heal mentally as well as physically” he started clearing his shakiness leaving his formal doctor voice to lead. I went to enter Kya's room but the doctor stopped me by gently grabbing my shoulder “WHAT?!” I whispered yelled at him. “Alpha she-she might not even know… just be calm.” He said quietly before I shook him off knocked gently on Kya's door and entered. Her state has completely changed from two days ago. Her eyes no longer sunk in and her cheeks plumping and rosie. ‘She’s stunning’ I thought as I approached her slowly. I’m amazed at this young wolf's healing ability. I couldn’t help deeply inha
Kyas POV I awoke abruptly from my little nap on the hospital bed by Vivi rushing into my treatment room. “Hurry Kya put these clothes on we must go now!” Vivi said to me in a hushed tone while shoving clothing at me. “Wha-what’s going on?” I replied groggily taking the clothing from her and standing from the hospital bed. “We are under attack Kya hurry up there’s no time,” Vivi answered me while guiding my body to the small bathroom door. Changing in the bathroom my heart felt panic. ‘Why should I keep going with this stranger?’ I thought to myself while wiggling into the jeans Vivi gave me. “Go with her. She is not our enemy Kya.” Athena spoke with confidence in my head. “Athena!!! It’s about time!” I replied to her. “Hurry up Kya I sense danger we need to get out of here” Athena whispered to me. ‘Even if I don’t trust Vivi I will always trust my wolf, she is the only reason I am alive today.’ I thought tying my hair back with a band I found on the sink counter. Before exiting t
Kyas POV After knowing Caleb was still out there sleep did not come that night. I sat the entire night with Vivi in Alpha Max's office thinking deeply about Caleb and his motives. After thinking for a long while I came to the realization...Who cares what he wants? I deserve anyone better than a man like him. He left me to die. He laughed at my pain. It’s been a couple of days since the attack but his scent still feels so fresh in my head. I cannot help but keep asking myself ‘Why did he come here… why did he come for me?’ As if rejecting me wasn't enough he comes here with rouges? Maybe he's looking for revenge for his father and pack? Thats it! How could I think he would come for me? Sometimes I ponder my sanity. Alpha Max hasn’t been back to the pack house since the attack. Vivi said he’s caught Caleb’s trail and refuses to return until he finds out his hiding location. Becoming close with Vivi these last couple of days has been very nice, I've never been treated like a real p
Kya's POV After returning to my room in the pack house from my first hair appointment, I decided to relax for a bit. Digging around the armoire full of clothing I pull out some black sweats and a nice tank top. While changing I glanced into the mirror on the wall and still could not believe the reflection before me. My cheeks look plump and rosey while my shiny blonde locks bounce around. I looked at my own eyes for a while and noticed they had changed shades. They used to be a sad and dull green. Now they are a vibrant emerald color even brighter than Calebs or his father's! ‘What magic has this pack performed?’ I thought to myself smiling. It’s been so long since I felt any type of joy. I decided to take a rest in my new bed. Walking over to it I sit down on the corner feeling the soft blankets before me. Laying my head down on the pillow I inhaled deeply. ‘Mmmmmm lavender…’ I snuggled deeper into the pillow falling into a peaceful rest. After an hour or so passed I heard kn
Max’s POVI left the packhouse that night with one task in mind. Finding the man who attacked my home. Finding the pathetic wanna-be alpha who tried to murder Kya. Finding peace for us all. After picking up Caleb’s scent I could not stop Artemis from following him. A small team of elite guards joined me in finding the trader who sent rogues to attack our beloved pack. After traveling for a full day we located the traitor's hideout. The scent led us to a small clearing deep in the forest far away from my territory. Traveling this deep into the forest is not normal for most wolves as all you will find out here are crazed rogues with an unimaginable blood thirst. Ahead a small cabin could be barely seen peeking out of the wood at the edge of the clearing. I stopped my men for a moment to plan our angle of attack. In every battle no matter how big or small you must have a plan for the worst.Splitting my men into two formations we surrounded the hideout easily from the north and south en
Caleb's POV"Caleb we are under attack! The dark moon has infiltrated our pack and is moving in past our borders" My father shouted at me as we both stormed out of the packhouse. 'The dark moon pack devours packs...were doomed.' I could not help thinking about it on our way to the exit. The night was dark and cold leaving an eerie feeling in the air. Our land is one of poverty so attacking us will gain them nothing. It was bound to happen with the pathetic excuse of an Alpha we have. Beta Charlie stood outside the pack house waiting for us to go approach the battle."There are too many of them Alpha if we run now we might survive!" Charlie spoke. "No! No other pack will take us. Not this way!" My father shouted furiously before shifting and heading toward the battle.I followed for a moment then I mind-linked Charlie, "Charlie he made me reject her, your daughter is dead, this pack is not worth our lives." I spoke clearly and sternly."When we reach the battle if you are the smart m
Caleb’s POV I turned to leave the cabin as Charlie stumbled over the stool and fell face-first onto the ground. “I will return soon” I murmured to him even though he was already snoring. Shutting the door behind me I stood outside the cabin breathing heavily as my head spun from the last few hour's occurrences. Beside the small cabin was a down pine tree I had come here weeks ago and carved a little bench into. This cabin has been a haven for me since childhood, my father being the unpleasant man he was made living with him an absolute nightmare. Even though I was to be next in line for alpha he always treated me as a weak little tag along. Never introduced me to the elders or business partners even though I would plant each evil seed in his head to help him keep our pack afloat. Always pushed me to the side, especially after what he did to my mother… Anger boiled in my veins ‘of course I remember Kya’s mother… She destroyed my family!’ I thought while glancing at the cabin think
