Chapter Six

A Brooklyn police patrol car was halted at the bottom of my driveway. The blue and red lights on the top were flashing. I watch the officer in a dark uniform stand on my front porch.

A wave of nausea hits me with rising panic and I hold Kristin's shoulders.

A cop was right there in front of my house porch, while a dead body was buried in my backyard under the rose bed.

There were no roses in my garden. I got it soon after the burial of the body, to cover the place.

My heart pounded with a dread twist in my gut.

What if I get caught?

How will I explain this to my parents?

Will I end up in jail forever?

Sighing Kirsten pushes my hands off her shoulders. We were hiding behind a fence in one of my neighborhood houses.

"This is crazy," Kristen says. "But we have to go and talk to her"

"What!?"I exclaim in shock a flush creeping through my body to face, feeling sick with fear.

"You heard me right we have to go and talk to her"Kristen turns to me, concern filled in her twin
