CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

The night was still very young and filled with stars illuminating the skies, all sitting in their perfect position.

As the two locked hands and walked slowly under the brightly lit skies, they could feel emotions surge through their body, and their heart raced even faster. Levi prompted a stop on a little wooden constructed bridge standing right before the big bright moon.

“Promise me you won’t leave me”, Levi said as he looked straight into her eyes. His eyes looked teary, spelling fear in bold letters.

“Never” she whispered, “I’m not going anywhere”.

He stood still, looking at her with a thousand thoughts running through his head. The guilt of having to hide something from her was killing him. Overwhelmed by a sea of emotions, tears dropped from his eyes.

“Why the tears, don’t cry,” she said as she cleaned the tears off his eye.

“I wish you knew why,” he thought to himself. “Please forgive me, I’m doing this to protect you”, he continued. He reached out and hugged her very tightly.
