"Are you alright?" Jocelyn asked me.
I still had the stake in my hand and was frozen to the spot. Javicia's words still rang in my head.
"Do you not know? She had said. "This is a powerful baby, and I do not think her humane essence can hold this baby till birth."
I gulped hard as the words sunk deeper. Was Hope pregnant? That was supposed to be impossible by all means. I wouldn't believe them. It sounded so absurd in my ears. Are vampires being able to conceive? It didn't sit right with me. I sighed and threw the stake away, rubbing my eyes afterward.
"Are you okay, man?" Zion asked.
"I think so," I replied, unsure.

The change in the weather meant that the vampires would return to their hiding places which also meant a safe month for Hope. It would take only a few weeks before her mother noticed she was pregnant, and I was thinking of what to do. There were two solutions to these.
