Naomi's POV

"I want to invite you to dinner."

I must have heard him wrong. There was no way Derrick Boone would invite me to a dinner date with him. If he did, then pigs have started flying. Although, he had been doing a lot of strange things recently but asking me out is out of it.

He was different from the man I was married to but that doesn't mean I would just accept his invitation.

"Why should I?"

He looked like a kid whose favourite toy got stolen. "I told you. I want you back in my life and I want to make it up to you."

Who is this guy and what has he done to the Derrick I know?

The last time I had suggested going with him to a dinner party. He had that a lot. Sometimes, it's a lunch party. Sometimes, charity parties. There was always one party or another to go to. I was bored out of my head from reading and just playing wife at home. I was young and needed fun in my life. I wanted to attend one of those parties - mainly out of curiosity - because Derrick always comes back late
