Chapter 45

Zach's PoV

Hope rises within me as I await the arrival of Detective Oraine Barnes in my office. For the last month, they have been chasing every lead and finally something concrete popped up.

As soon as a knock sounds at my door, I open it and welcome him inside. He's preceeded by Kyle, Connor and Laura. I'm just grateful she hasn't written me off as yet. "Let's get right to it shall we." I state while taking my seat, and the others follow suit.

"Mr. Lindsay, we found the security guard who was working the night of your incident."

I close my eyes and whisper a silent prayer before responding. "Okay, what does this mean for my family and I?"

He opens his iPAD, clicks on a file then hands it to me with a video. "Miss Gomez paid him to doctor the hotel tapes, but he kept a copy as insurance."

I play the video, and we all watch as Natasha and I talk heatedly for a few minutes. After that, I down the rest of my drink and then she struggles to take me to the hotel room. I'm practically pass
