Chapter 49 - Father and Daughter

“Mommy, Uncle Marty is already waiting downstairs” Cassie enthusiastically informed Christine, who is still dressing up.

“Alright, sweetie, give me a moment, I’ll come down after getting dressed.” Christine grudgingly donned her skinny jeans and sneakers. 

She had enjoyed a few days respite from Marty’s annoying presence, but now she’s going to tolerate his presence for the sake of Cassie. She had somewhat regretted making a promise to Cassie at that moment. 

Coming down the stairs, she saw Cassie sitting on Marty’s lap giggling as they watched a video together. The father and daughter were a sight to see.
