Chapter 7

Outside the air was cold. Diana lifted her face to the sky and saw thousands of stars twinkling. The night was calm, but that city never seemed to sleep.

Diana looked at the Wong mansion, with all the windows lit up, and knew that people were having a good time there. She began to walk aimlessly, feeling alone and helpless. Tears began to roll down her cheeks and she continued to walk without worrying about it. There was no one to see her.

Down below, the cove with its twinkling lights seemed like another, utterly alien world. What was she doing there anyway? What was the use of coming this far? It was impossible to escape from love, escape from feelings! But it was only by living that experience that I had learned.

She then decided to walk to the ferry port. After the effort she'd put into playing the role of the self-assured woman and all the emotions she'd felt at that party, she was in need of a good walk to relax. He didn't want to face the loneliness of his room. If only she had
