Chapter 32

The plane lands in New Zealand and we are driven straight to our luxurious hotel suite, tucked away in a rainforest. We enter our suite and place our suitcases on the king-sized bed, taking in the luxurious room. The bed has been made up with red silk sheets and it’s covered in freshly-picked rose petals.

In the kitchen, we find a large, fresh, fruit platter, a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates. We walk back into the bedroom and enter the large ensuite, complete with a spa.

We open two double doors and step out onto the balcony where the view of the rainforest is breathtaking. I squint and just make out the city in the distance. We stand quietly and smile at each other, listening to the sounds of waterfalls, and different birds chirping. We are escorted to the river and given a kayak and paddle each.

We spend most of the day kayaking through the turquoise waters and hiking through the forest. We return to the hotel suite where we have a one-hour massage followed by a romanti
