CHAPTER 36

MOTHER... SANDRA... When Estella opened her eyes, they were the first person she saw. Both of them were sitting in the chair next to the bed and just looking at her. She tried to sit up but felt a sharp pain in her stomach. She remembered what had happened, and she felt terrible.

She suddenly noticed that she had IV Fluid again, which Vanessa had just removed from the back of her hand. She remembered everything that had happened before she lost consciousness, and it all flashed before her in a rush.

"My baby?" She asked them. "How is my baby? Where is Doc Andrea?"

Neither of them replied. They remained silent, looking at each other as if pushing each other to see who would speak. Their faces fell, and their eyes were swollen. Her chest was painful because she felt she needed to know something. They were both trying to contain their emotions, but it was clear that they both wanted to say something.

"Mother, Sandra? My baby is still healthy, right? Like Doc Andrea always says." S
