Chapter 19 (part 2)

The flat was only three blocks away in a newly built building. It was a two-story house; the ground floor contained a beautiful modern kitchen, a large living room, a comfortable lounge with a fireplace, and a study. A wide marble staircase led to the upper floor, where there were four large bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.

Although visibly uninhabited, Adam noticed that many of the items in the room belonged to him. They were either things he had left at his grandfather's house seven years earlier or things he had bought with Shàng Wèi and abandoned in his flat.

Only the authors he loved the most appeared in the studio library. The same could be said for CDs, vinyl and DVDs. Only the artists he followed and listened to. The house seemed to be his. It was even furnished the way he liked it, a perfect mix of modern and vintage. It was almost like his flat in Soho, except that this house was more than twice his own size.
