"Thanks," I said to the waiter after she had served our food.

Alejandro was being very cautious at the moment and he wasn't even being subtle about it. When we arrived at the restaurant that was located in a 5-star hotel, he immediately instructed the manager to take us to the secluded area that he had reserved and he was in such a hurry that I was worried at first.

After thinking about it for a while, I understood why he was in such a hurry and I didn't blame him or see anything wrong with his actions.

We couldn't exactly risk being seen together because he had told Alice that he had business to take care of in Alaska and I had told her that I had a trip to Ohio with one of the general managers.
