Chapter 18

Peter

The room was cold and dark, the ceiling was black as if it had burned, the walls were covered in ash, the atmosphere covered with a burning smell and something rotten. The floor from where I had been laying was full of dust and rats passing by. I couldn't decipher if what I was in a dream or whether this was my reality. I looked at my clothes, they were dirty as well as torn. My knees were covered in scratches, so was my body. I suddenly felt some heat and aching all over my body. Fortunately there was a mirror in the room. No bed, no chair, no blankets, just a mirror. I slowly walked towards it. My body still in pain. I lifted my eyes to my reflection and saw the horror that I was in. I looked awful. Bruises were covering my entire body. Blood had left an ugly stain all over my clothing. What had happened to me I wonder. Because of the continuous pain that seemed not to want to leave me, I realised that I was not in a dream but was in a true nightmare. Everything was real. But
