“Your Highness!” came the voice of the guard at Luna's doorpost. He went on, "I have to convey a message.." before entering softly and bowing to her.

She motioned for the maid to allow them some solitude, and then the guard began.

“The royal file is missing!”

She snapped her eyes open. "I am starting to hear things,” she said with a laugh as she wiped her face. “Those assassins know where the dead one that betrayed me kept it. It can't just vanish into thin air now that I have to hold it tighter.”

“Unfortunately, that's the truth. After speaking with the chief assassin, I made the decision to inform you so that you could direct your preparations while they continued their hunt.” The guard gave her an explanation, bowed, and exited the room.
