Chapter 5

"The Alpha and Luna of Lumina have arrived!"

The tower bell was rang to open the gates to the Lycan King's castle and welcome our arrival. The sun is almost in its setting point when we entered the Lycan's borders and that causes the Alpha to be more uneasy.

"I'm already warning you to always stick by my side, Leaxandra."

"I'm no child, Quinn. I can take care of myself better than anyone, and besides, I came along because I wanted to and not to become a nuisance to you." I tell him firmly before walking out the carriage first. I can't have him in the same state just earlier.

"Greetings, Luna and Alpha Coven."

I jumped and almost stumbled back at the sudden appearance of a man wearing a blindfold right outside the carriage doors.

It's a good thing Quinn was there to catch my back if he didn't have to run his mouth for an untold remark. "Told you."

"I apologize for startling you. I am the Lycan King Caius's attendant, Beau."

"Where's Raedan?" The guy beside me snaps causing me to glare at him.

Does he not know how to be polite even when mouthing the King's name when he's not around?

"I apologize but he's in the middle of handling internal affairs at the moment, my lord. I'll be the one under your assistance throughout for the meantime." Beau gestured towards the maids and palace helpers towards our carriages.

"I am grateful for your sincere cooperation towards the protocol of our kingdom by only bringing two companions. But I'd like to remind you that it is crucial to check whatever item that enters the vicinity of the palace." He explains while leading us inside the giant double doors.

The Lycan's castle does not differ much in size from ours, but more likely on style. The Alpha King's castle is more vintage and antique, while the Lycan King's castle walls were renovated from the newest materials ever seen in the land.

"Just so I wanted you to be aware of, I don't want to waste more time from your pep talk and would like to take things straight to business." Quinn eventually cuts through the attendant touring us around. I feel like smacking him for some reason.

He'd always been a straightforward person and there's nothing wrong with that except his timing for ruining the atmosphere.

Beau's aura immediately changed into a more serious tone. "If that's what the Alpha wants then we shall proceed first to discussing your propositions regarding the contract renewal."

He then lead us to the guest room without further ado. Though I wanted to have a tour around, I can't stand the sight of anything that shouts the Lycan's name.

"If it's not much, I'd like to exclude her ladyship's presence as for this matter." The attendant tells me causing me to curse almost immediately.

"Fuck you."

"Language, Leaxandra." Quinn mumbles followed by Claude and Hyde's whispers.

"Luna, that's..."

"That means she's either offended or pissed."

"I apologize, my lady." Beau sighs, "You are allowed to tour any part of the castle for now. As I am certain that the Alpha wouldn't want her ladyship to get involved with this matter as well since we will be discussing the incident that happened seven years ago."

As though a nerve ticked in his thick skull, Quinn immediately dismissed me at all costs. What I meant by that was the way he talked me out of the place like I'm some sort of trash just to keep me out. I should have known better than to trust his shifting personalities.

"What's up with him all of a sudden?" I grunt as I march through the corridors within heavy footsteps. "He only tend to use me anytime when necessary."

"You shouldn't think like that, my lady." Hyde, of course, defends the name of his Alpha. "The Alpha only does what's best for you."

"And what best will that be, huh, Hyde?"

"You won't understand."

"That's because none of you ever tried!" I yelled out of frustration. "And what the hell is up with seven years ago anyway?" The only thing I know was seven years ago was the date of our marriage.

I already knew our marriage was forced, but to think that there was an incident that my husband doesn't want me to know while it is involved with the Lycans is enough to form my suspicion.

"Lunas don't have any right to engage in the transaction in between the Alpha Kings unless the male wolf allows." Hyde explains, though I am already aware of that nonsense.

"If the Alpha does not allow the Luna's proposition to be included in the contract renewal, then there's still a possibility to reach out to the other King." Claude counters. "So don't worry about a thing, for I am certain we can include her ladyship's proposition to the contract renewal."

"Stop filling the Luna's mind with false hope, Kaize." Hyde whispers though I can hear him clearly.

Claude ignored his threat and instead, diverts my attention by leading me outside the palace. "We've reached the garden, my lady."

I don't know whether he's aware of it but the sight of nature alone calms my whole being. "I'd like to be alone for the moment."

"I'm afraid I cannot allow that." Hyde responds almost immediately. He'd been becoming more like my husband lately, testing my patience and all that.

"I'll just be around here, you can smell and feel my presence after all." I gaze strictly at him. "Or can't you?"

Silence means yes and I immediately regretted my words at the way Hyde avoids my gaze in shame. While knowing all too well his senses aren't that heightened.

"Here," I move towards him before pulling his head and bare my neck closely for him to take up my scent. We're not that acquainted much with each other since he is the Alpha King's Beta and I know he have difficulties in familiarizing scents.

"We good?"

After one last intake of my scent, he pulls away clearing his throat. "O- of course, thank you.." Strangely, his face is all flushed.

Maybe I held him too tight. "I'll just be over here!" I waved my hand at them before slipping straight in the maze of roses. Every time I feel like wanting to clear my head, I go straight to lay my sights on the view of the greeneries.

Alone, at last. I inhaled deeply the essence of the plants surrounding me. The presence of natural living things reminds me of the way our manor were once filled with beds of roses.

The same things goes for the maze, I seemed to have been longing on getting lost.

In the middle of lingering unconsciously, I stumble on a back door leading to an isolated part of the palace grounds. I can no longer comprehend what urges me to go that way though I let it be.

Let this long lost desire in me be free.

Before I could register where I was going, my mind only snapped back at the same time the door clicked close.

Huh? "Where..." I mumble, trying to asses the place while being lost in the middle of the happenings.

"Did I just teleport or something?" I mumble, still out of my mind. Though my head's remains blank the whole time, my body seemed to have a mind of it's own bringing me all the way here inside this old bedchamber.

I was about to rush back towards where I came from when I stopped on my tracks upon sensing the heavy atmosphere from the door- as though it's daring me to walk out... If I can.

I scoff, sitting down on the end of the bed while glaring at closed exit. "I can feel you... whoever you are."

The eerie silence made the aura of the dimly lit room even more dead than it already looks. The longer I stay inside, the more I feel uneasy as there seems to be this weird feeling beginning to burst inside and out of me.

Fear and excitement, perhaps.... Although it actually do sounds ridiculous, who would even get excited while feeling fear at the same time?

I try to shrug my anxiousness by reaching for my cloak on my shoulder even though I don't have one. But much to my surprise, my hand caught on to the thick fabric.

"Feeling cold, my lady?"

I flinched and snapped my head back only to be met by the most enchanting soul I've ever laid my eyes upon.

"Who are you?" I whisper, unable to take my gaze off the relaxing dark forestry such as his emerald eyes.

He smiles down at me, reminding me of that deranged smile every sane person possess.

"Let us get you all warmed up first, shall we?"

Before I could register what was happening, he already had me laid down on the bed and under the covers.

Just who is this guy? He made me question again and again as though his pure existence alone is the only thing that's keeping my mind alive.

He looks like a wolf with his hair, the shapes of his eyes were slanted and strict, but the carnal look he holds reminds me of the Lycan he is.

He's a Lycan, that fact alone snapped me out of the enchant of his presence. I threw the covers off me in between the both of us before shifting out of the bed and away from him.

"My, you're way energetic than I expect." He grins, finding my attempt to get away from him quite ridiculous.

"Who are you?" I question in demand, barely keeping my stand upon becoming the subject of his gaze.

"Well, I don't know." His eyes were scanning my body from head to tow, the shades getting darker. "Who am I?"

I couldn't seem to part my mouth open nor take a hold of my senses the moment our gazes met once more. But, the way he looks at me now was so intense and deep that my body reacts strangely to the point I began to feel hot all over.

My heart was pounding wildly, I'm afraid it might get out of my chest any moment now.

"You don't seem cold now, my lady." The guy casually moves from the bed in attempt to approach me. I try and attempt to take a step back with caution, but it shocked me when my body refused to move by my will.

"A- are you making fun of me?" I scoff in a failed attempt to try and hide my frantic thoughts.

"I'm not, but I'm more than willing enough to initiate every little fun with you." He immediately grabs me by the jaw before flicking his tongue straight on my cheeks. Grinning. "You're sweating way too much, Leaxandra."

That's all it took for me to openly show fear in front of the psycho before me.

"Y- you... disg... ust me." I choke in between tearing up, I could barely form the words. To make matters worst, he took advantage of my lost in touch from reality and had began to explore my body at his own will.

"Yeah, sure." He hums and moans on my neck all the while running his hands aggressively all over my body as though in heat. "Fuck, how I've missed you so bad." He growls out of nowhere, groping my breasts hard enough through the thick fabric of my dress.

"L- let go." I gasp shakily, unable to breathe from the overwhelming feeling as tears flooded my vision. Though the more I failed to get out of his hold, the more he finds my struggle arousing.

I don't even understand why wrath refused to consume me at the moment even after planting in my head I wanted to kill him again and against for daring to touch- let alone, continuously lick me.

My heart keeps on pounding in my ears, my vision was hazy, my breathing so fast and loud, my whole body hot, I feel like slowly losing my humanity.

If this is not wrath, then what is this feeling?
