Fifty Four

"Hey Chad," smiling sweetly. "It's been a while. This place hasn't changed."

"Y-yeah...with you here makes this place magical," Chad says boldly as he picks up the boxes.

I chuckle at his nervousness.

Chad never changed with his cheesy words. But then again, he has his way with words. The first time we met, he did things that could be considered too much. Like a free bunk once he saw me. He was flustered and couldn't speak to me. Sometimes, his words were either stuttering or gibberish, and I didn't know what he was saying.

It's sweet, but I don't feel the same way he does. By a year, Chad is older than me and has been working here since his dad passed away a year ago. He told me he wanted to be a musician and not take over the family business, but he took it pretty hard since his dad's passing. But meeting me had to lighten up his mood.

"So, Chad, how's the resort?" I ask him.

"Well, there is no one around this time, as you can see."
