Maya got back into the kitchen and began to dish out the Creole gumbo she had prepared, into small deep ceramic plates. Arranging them in trays according to how many elders would be present in the dining room with the inclusion of Grey, Zing, and the gamma chief, Hillard. The omegas were to serve themselves and the rest of the pack after she was done.
Gwen opened the kitchen door. "The elders are here, including the alpha and the beta," Gwen told her, and Maya inhaled.
"Okay, I think I'm good to go," she replied.
"Um, Vivian is at the table too," Gwen told her with a sorry look on her face.
Maya braced up. "It's fine. I'll just dish out for one more," she responded with a nervous smile. After dishing out for Vivian, she walked out of the kitchen and into dining room.

He picked at the second ring, and placed the phone on his ear. "Yes?"
