CHAPTER 100

GLENN

We were the couple of the evening, and I could see why we got the attention of everyone and everything as we walked out even the cold air that evening.

He walked with his hands clasped into mine as I could feel his pulse racing against mine, there were things I wanted to tell him with my hormones raging all I wanted was to fuck this man and I had done exactly the right thing leaving an hint of my want and desire all around throughout the evening.

With each click of my heels that echoed off the wooden floorboards, as we Walked out I listened as it played with my heartbeat, I was oozing out a musky scent of want that would had made anyone of my kind go crazy with rage but at the moment it doesn't look like I could stop any of it—

It had only been minutes since we arrived had arrived and we're standing in front of the restaurant as we the uncertainty of if he felt the same way played out at the back of my mind, I wondered if something had shifted right there in the Lunar plane to create this want that was blooming from the deepest part of my want and desire to fill every available space in my body.

It was easy, I could feel it from every scent and hint around, I could sense the animalistic want that was consuming my soul, I could sense that one thing, just one thing appeared to echo at the back of my mind incessantly —him— he was everywhere.

It felt ridiculous that I haven't sent anything all evening since we got out so at that moment I watched him turn to fix me with the most charming look anyone could give, I was most certain he was messing with my head on purpose.

His gaze was shimmering into the deepest part of my soul, as he spoke I could feel that tangle in my chest.

“You good?”He breathed those words and I could feel myself close to bursting into fragments—

"Yes I am. " I forced a smile that seemed to radiate around.

“Thank you for the dinner, it was very nice.” I said shyly as he strolled gently towards his car that was just pulling up. It’s been awhile since I’ve ever been treated this nice by anyone and it meant so much to me.

He nodded once before he led the way, I could still feel the burning thuds that came from my chest as we walked down the steps, with his hands still tangled in mine.

He smirked hard as he answered.“It was nothing, I had a very good time too, so I should be thanking you too for your time.” He said gently enough his signature smile plastered on his face and I could feel myself almost melting.

As we approached his car I had the same feeling I had been having of late, I looked around and once again the shape of the stalker was right there in the shadows, this time I could see his look linger a while as whoever it was got back into his car and drove out of sight. I looked around shaking , wondering if I was the only one who saw him.

Apparently I was, Santiago had been busy all this while minding his business and trying to get the door opened.

My heart started racing — I could feel the cold air hovering around in the aftermath. It was overwhelming. The entire feeling made me Instantly weak and I was still wondering who it could be when Santiago noticed this as he tapped me gently on my shoulder.

“Are you okay? You seem scared?” He asked softly looking around probably wondering what it was I was so scared about:

There was nothing behind it other than darkness, perhaps if he looked ten minutes earlier he would probably have seen it too, my attention was drawn to the car headlights fading away as it turned the bend ahead.

I pondered a little if I was supposed to tell anyone about this since I wasn’t sure yet, it was going to be embarrassing if there was actually no one on my trail, the feeling it left behind was that of shock as it felt as though

I was going to be napped away the second minute that I felt it’d be safer to let him know.

I walked over to the front of his car and then paused, looking around to be sure there were no eyes on me— He noticed my actions as well and stopped right there in his tracks looking all serious.

As we both stopped I turned to face him making sure I looked into his eyes so he could see how serious I was about all of this:

“I think I’m being followed, for sometime now, there’s always been this car and this guy who I can’t see on my trail, it’s making me really scared.” I muttered it, taking a long sigh in terror, I had to say it felt a little bit less heavier telling him it was almost as if I could imagine him being my savior out of all of this.

He arched his brows on alert, as he looked around and finally turned back to me with a serious look plastered on his face.

"I see no One."

I ran my hands through my hair in frustration, the thing I would do was to start sounding crazy apparently. I knew it was one thing telling him and another trying to convince him I hoped I would have to go for the latter even if it was seeming likely to be the case.

“Have you told the police?” He inquired.

I sighed…

“Uhm..no,I’m not sure if this is a real threat yet, it’s all based on assumptions and what if it’s just my imagination taking the best part of me?”

“And what if it’s not? It’s your safety we are talking about here and I think you should…”

Almost immediately I could see how restless he was, there was a deep look of concern in his with each breath he took, I was most definitely sure that if he could drag me along with him to the station at this moment he most definitely would, but that last thing I would wa was leading every one on with mere assumptions.

Now, that it was seeming more likely, u was starting to figure out that might be the right thing to do.

I decided on changing the topic as the whole room seemed tensed up already.

"When are you planning on telling me that you moved —"

I had been looking for the perfect time to ask since the one time that Anna told me she had bumped into Martha again

He had his jaw opened wide and was about to speak when He was interrupted as his phone buzzed and he dipped his hands into his pocket and picked the call, his countenance turned sour the moment he saw the caller.

“Hey, Martha.” He muttered as he turned to face me as if seeking my permission to answer the call.

I gave a weak smile that didn't reach down to my soul and as if that was not enough

my face immediately turned into a frown. Immediately he looked away. The whole situation made me jealous instantly but I didn’t show it.

“I’m kind of in the middle of something right now, can I call you later?” He inquired calmly.

I felt a kind of pride that he was valuing me over her then I realized again that he was going back to her after everything then felt sober.

She seemed to be winning in other areas and while I wouldn't have paid any attention to it before now it was seeming more like something I couldn't control.

She replied but I didn’t know what it was about as the call ended.

“You don’t have to call her later, I can board a taxi and get home, I don’t want to be a bother.” I said immediately and was about to head forward when he pulled me back.

He had a smile in his face as he was noticeably that I was jealous, I hated the fact that I was showing this emotion but then —

“You just said something about being followed, you think I’d let you go home late at night? I’ll drop you at home and it’s not a request, get in.” He said shoving me into the front seat and shut the door.

I felt glad about this but I immediately shoved the thought off my mind.

The drive home was silent as he didn’t say anything and I also didn’t have anything to say either. I could tell that he had a lot on his mind , a lot more than anything he was saying but somehow he chose silence.

Desperate as the whole situation was I felt the need to know what was going through his mind at that very second, there was to know what he was thinking.

He had one hand on the wheel as he drove and I on the other hand gazed at the roads as I enjoyed the cool, soothing night breeze till I got home.

“We’re here.” He announced as soon as he arrived at my apartment.

I took my bag, got down and closed the door behind me with a click, the feeling from earlier was still hovering around but with that prude settling in I was wondering if it would be worth it inviting him in, I knew I can't do that abruptly I had to be wise with it.

“Thank you for bringing me home; I really appreciate it.” I mumbled looking away.

“You’re welcome; it’s nothing when it comes to you.” He had a smile, I must say he had his way with words. If he was not a doctor should've been a writer as that melted me as I blushed immediately and it was too late for him not to notice it.

“Okay then.” He gave a look like he was hesitating to leave as well

“Would you like to come in?” I asked uncertainly if he would be willing to making it easier for him —

His phone buzzed again as I peeked and saw that it was Martha, again.

“You don’t have to, it seems like you’re busy.” I said immediately he ended the call.

“No, I actually don’t mind coming in.” He replied coming down from the car.

“But Martha,” I said that hoping he didn't leave

“I’ll talk to her later.” He replied as he walked in together with me after shutting the door,

I felt excited that he placed me above her but there was nothing to be happy about.

I offered him water but he refused claiming he was okay. I took a seat beside him as I thought having a little conversation wouldn’t be bad.

“So, is there anything you see us hanging out?” I blurted out.

“I want more, but can we take it slow, I won’t rush you into anything.” He said calmly, searching keenly into my eyes. "This should have been easier if she wasn't carrying my child.

I thought about Anna theory about my pregnancy as I answered “I know you won’t.”

“I enjoy spending time with you, a lot. You’re just different and you have his caring aura that’s always there and I’m just really attracted to that.”

“Thank you, that’s a very nice thing to say.” I blushed.

“Well it’s true and I hope you know so.”

“Well..”

Just as we started getting the hang of it, his phone buzzed again and it was Martha, again!

“It’s okay if you have to go now, I understand.“ I said, forcing a smile into my face.

To my surprise, he picked up his phone and switched it off.

“I’m not going.”

“But Santiago if you have to..”

“I don’t have to, I can call her later.” He said placing his phone to the other side of the table and as he leaned back to me, I pressed forward and settled for a kiss.

It was intense, calm and appealing all at the same time.

He pushed in closer, holding me firmly at my back and pressed on with the kiss, gently reaching each corner of my mouth.

As soon as we broke the kiss, he stared at me with a smile that bore satisfaction.

“I’m sorry if..”

“Shhh… you don’t have to be sorry about anything Glenn.” He said gently, pressing my hand into his and kissed me again.
