Chapter 59

"Did you two argue?" 

That was Marcus' question when he toured and introduced me to his pack doctors and infirmary assistants as soon as we arrived. I had to keep a warm smile on everyone until I had bestowed a chance to rest in the corner, silently adoring those baby pups.

"What is it, my lord?" I asked softly, trying to feign ignorance and looking at him innocently.

He tucked his hands in the pockets of his trousers before looking down at the baby pups. Then, his face contorted as if he did not want to stay here. 

"Your mate... Louis." He glanced at me after that.
