Chapter 4

*****Elvira's POV*****

Two weeks had passed since I got divorced from Archie.

I tried to build my life from scratch, aiming to live like nothing ever happened.

But it wasn't that easy.

Each time I remembered the struggles I passed through and how I had ended, I always felt tears build up in my eyes.

And right now, I was tearing up again at my workplace.

After I told mum everything, she had told me to move on in life and not dwell on the past.

Though my father was far from happy.

He was so angry and almost disowned me because I had gotten divorced and ruined the life of power he felt he had.

He didn't even care that I was abused and I lost my pregnancy, he only cares about power and benefits.

Daphne afterwards found me a job at a restaurant.

The restaurant was the biggest in the city and had top elites of the city visiting it day by day.

I liked the job, it was a perfect distraction from life struggles, but I still couldn't deny the hurt I feel each time I see couples come into the restaurant and act lovingly with each other.

"Stop Crying already, will you?" Dahlia said in my head and I sniffed.

"I'm trying not to," I said, and it was the truth. I was trying not to shed a tear.

"You're doing a bad job" she snorted and I chuckled through tears.

"Please stop," she said again.

She felt every emotion I felt and it was weighing us down.

But we needed to be strong for each other at least.

Just then, I felt a presence behind me and turned to see Daphne walking in with a huge smile on her face.

"Baby!" She screamed and I had to cover her mouth with my hand immediately.

I know she was the reason I got this job, but I just couldn't let her make me lose it as well.

"What are you yelling for?" I whispered in her ear and she grinned when I removed the hand covering her mouth.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" she said, then extended her hand to show me an invitation card, "Look at this. You know the Moonforest Den?"

She asked and I rolled my eyes.

"The number one Lycans pack, of course" I answered.

"Well, the Lycan Princess is having her birthday party tonight and the best part is, her Brothers, Zayn and Zayden would be attending!" Daphne yelled and twirled around.

I had the urge to make a video of her yelling in excitement and sending it to Jaxon, telling him his mate was getting excited over other men's arrival.

Ok, I couldn't do that to her, so I sighed.

"Why are you getting so excited?" I asked her in bewilderment as I leaned on the counter.

"That's because, I'm taking you along to see the hottest and most powerful men in the city, today!"

She screamed again and I closed my ear immediately.

"Why is she this loud over men?!" Dahlia asked in annoyance and I chuckled,"I don't know"

"Well, break things off with her! She is a bad influence!" I laughed at Dahlia's words, but ignored those same words.

"Daphne, I'm not going anywhere" I said, arms crossed over my chest.

"Oh yes you will'' she responded, a smirk on her face, "you will, unless I'll make sure you lose this damn job that is busily eating up all your attention!" She added and groaned.

"Why must I go?" I asked again.

"Because you have no choice" she answered and sighed, "Do you even know the Lycan Princess?" I added.

"And how did I get the invite?" She asked, still waving the invitation in the air.

"Maybe Jaxon helped you get it" I retorted and she rolled eyes.

"He doesn't have much influence like me, but seriously we're going. I have to go now, be ready by 7!" She was in such a hurry that I got confused and before I knew it, she disappeared.

"What a crazy friend" Dahlia commented and I smiled. "I like that crazy friend," I said.

"Alright, Alright. Just get ready to go home, I think it's closing time" Dahlia reminded me and I hummed.

After checking if everything was intact and well kept, I left the restaurant and walked home.

It took me a few minutes to arrive home as the restaurant wasn't far from my home.

Mum wasn't home yet, neither was my dad.

He had traveled three days after the fight with me about my divorce.

I got to my room to prepare for Daphne's forced party.

After taking a shower and having dinner, I got dressed in the simplest dress I found in my wardrobe.

Sooner than expected, I heard the sound of a car pulling into the driveway. Without needing to take a look, I knew it was Daphne's car.

Her car had this strangest sound that sounded like an Omega wolf being strangled to death.

"She really takes other people's parties seriously," Dahlia scoffed.

I shrugged as I brushed my hair, tying it on the top of my head in a messy bun.

"Time to go!!" I heard Daphne's shrill voice from downstairs as she stumped her way to my room.

"I'm here!" She yelled again as she pushed the door to my room open, her eyes also taking in my appearance.

"Uhm....." She began, but I shut her up, "Don't say a word. If you expect me to change this dress into something skimpier, then I better go over to my bed and have some rest"

Daphne's lips formed a thin line as she glared at me.

I knew what was running through her mind, but I didn't say a word as I shoved her out of the way and left my room.

"We meet at the driveway!" I said and stepped out of the house.

Daphne yelled and followed after me.

"Hey, wait for me!"

I ignored her and got into her awaiting little car.

Dahlia sighed exhaustedly.

"We should be napping" she said and I smiled.

"We'll be back in a jiffy" I said to her as Daphne started the car.

"Let's go rock that party!" She yelled as she drove off from my driveway.

This is going to be a long night.
