Chapter 5

*****Elvira's POV*****

We soon arrived at the expected Moon forest Den, But not at the packhouse.

The party was held in one of the hotels belonging to the Moon forest Den Alphas; The Lycan Twins.

The entrance was buzzing with both the elites of the city and some other people I couldn't actually recognize. Not that I recognized anyone though.

Thankfully, the invitation Daphne had, got us into the hotel after the valet took our little car.

The valet looked very stuffed in Daphne's car and I had to pitifully shake my head inwardly for him.

"We're finally in! I can't believe this!" Daphne squealed in excitement as we made our way deeper into the party grounds.

I had expected a party where teenagers would be filled all around, but I was wrong.

There were elderly and other Pack Alphas as I recognized.

The Lycan Princess was very influential to know so many people of such caliber..

"What do you expect when she is a Lycan princess? It's normal for her to have lots of friends." Dahlia let out.

"Unlike when we party at the club for our birthdays, this is a classic elegant party only for the elites of the city." Daphne said and immediately boasted, "you see when I say that Jaxon couldn't be more influential than I am!"

I rolled my eyes at her and looked towards the entrance suddenly.

There, I saw Archie and that woman from earlier walking in, hand in hand.

Behind them was Jaxon as he smiled softly at people around.

I felt very sad at being in the same party as Archie.

Why did he have to arrive too?!

"Relax, I know you've seen Archie" Daphne said beside me, "But don't worry, let's go greet the celebrant" She said and I nodded, letting her pull me and as I followed behind her.

Anywhere she led me to at this moment, I was willing to go with her just so I could avoid Archie.

We walked to the front and there we saw two women talking. One had on a simple attire while the other looked like she had just walked straight out of a magazine.

"Hello, I'm Daphne" Daphne, always the brave one, approached them and said.

I bit the inside of my cheek nervously as I waited for the insult that would be soon dished out to Daphne.

But instead of an insult as I expected, the one wearing casual attire directly pulled Daphne in for a hug.

"I'm glad you came, Daphne" the woman said and I laughed inwardly.

Indeed, Daphne was influential.

I stood at the sides quietly as Daphne exchanged pleasantries with them. My legs were already aching from all the day's standing and I had the urge to take a seat at least.

"And this is my friend, Elvira" I heard Daphne suddenly say, and that was when I looked up at the woman.

"Elvira, can I call you Vira?" She asked sweetly and moved to hug me.

I never knew the Lycans were this warm and jovial.

They always portrayed a bad image of Lycans to us while growing up, so it wasn't a new thing to be wary of them.

"Yes, call me whatever you want to call me" I said as I returned her hug.

"I'm Erika, the celebrant, it's nice to meet you Elvira"

Ahh she is the Lycan Princess.

Wow, how humble.

"Nice to meet you too Erika" The pleasure was all mine.

"Her name is wonderful" I said to Dahlia as I took a step back from the warm hug.

"And sexy" Dahlia added and I rolled my eyes.

"You talk too much" I scolded and grabbed a drink from a passing waiter.

Daphne whispered something to Erika and the latter giggled.

Erika whispered back and I narrowed my eyes at them.

Not that I should care about whatever they were saying, but I felt the conversation was about me.

"Erika, when will your brothers arrive? Elvira couldn't stop talking about meeting them, you know?" Daphne suddenly cooed and my eyes widened.

"Daphne you!" I pointed an accusing finger at her but she chuckled with a shrug.

"Am I lying?"

"Yes!" How could she do this to me?!

"I told you to ditch her already.” Dahlia suggested again calmly and I blew steam.

"I'll ll do that today, I'm breaking things off with this liar of a best friend"

"Good" Dahlia cheered.

Erika turned to look at me, a smile on her face as she said, "My brothers should be here in a few minutes, don't worry you'll get to meet them"

I had the urge to explain myself to her, but she smiled and walked past me to engage in other conversations with guests.

I stood there awkwardly as I sipped the wine in my hand.

"You ain't going to move from that spot?" Daphne asked when she saw me unmoving.

"No, I'm good," I said to her and breathed out.

"You have to dance, that's the reason for this party!" She said and pulled me towards the dance floor unwillingly. I refused to go there and risk my chances of being seen by Archie.

Daphne was determined as she pulled me more to the dance floor.

I felt at a loss as I hadn't really danced before so many people.

In the faces of everyone present, I felt small and unseen.

"You're a good dancer! Go ahead and shake those old limbs of yours!" Daphne encouraged me and I glared at her.

Suddenly, I felt eyes on me as I turned to see Archie staring at me.

He was sitting at the farthest end with his bimbo lady.

I averted my gaze hurriedly and focused on the supposed dance I was forced to dance.

Just when I began to feel the beats and enjoy the moment.

The scent of raspberries and chocolate rudely wafted into my nostrils and I moaned out.

Daphne stared at me as I closed my eyes to inhale properly, these two scents.

"El, are you alright?" Daphne asked me and I ignored her.

My senses were attacked by the sweet scent and I followed after the scent subconsciously.

Daphne yelled out my name and followed behind me instantly, but I was far from listening.

Soon the scents led me to the entrance of the hotel and that was when I saw the source.

Dahlia purred in response.

Four eyes looked at me wide eyed.

The Twin Lycans spoke in unison, "Mates”
