Ava

“ Sit down, Ava,” Max said, coming to me.

“ Max,” I breathed out my voice breaking at the end. It had been so long and we still haven't heard anything from them.

They were gone for like 6 hours now and no one came back. My mind was imagining the worst scenario.

“ Can't you link any of the warriors from your pack?” I asked Max, who had been standing by my side and looking at me, narrowing his eyes.

“ You know we can't. It will distract them,” he said.

“ Come with me,” he said, holding my hand in his and leading me away from the crowd.

“ Where are you taking me,” I asked.

He led me to the kitchen and made me sit on the chair. He pulled another chair and put it in front of me before he took a seat.

“ You need to calm down, Ava. You aren't looking good,” he said.

“ I am calmed, Max,” I said irritated.

“ No, you aren't, you look as pale as a sheet of paper,” he said.

“ Why do you care about him so much, Ava?” He asked.

“ It is not like he is your mate.”
