60. "Betraying the Betrayal"

Vincent’s POV

I woke up from a restless sleep, my head pounding from a wild night of heavy wine drinking. The taste of regret lingered on my dry tongue, urging me to grab a glass of water.

"I really need some water," I mumbled, barely able to hear myself as I sat up, my temples throbbing with pain. Slowly, I opened my eyes, letting the dim room light seep in and reveal my surroundings.

To my surprise, the spot next to me on the bed was empty. My mate, Helen, was nowhere to be found.

Confusion washed over me as I scanned the room, taking in the aftermath of our wild party from the night before.

Clothes were scattered all over the floor, mixed in with empty wine bottles that silently testified to our debauchery.

"Has she left again?" I grumbled, frustration building as I gathered my clothes and quickly got dressed, trying to regain some sense of composure.
