77. "Reconcilation"

Olive’s POV

The passing of a day brought with it a restoration of vitality to my weary body. Aaron, ever attentive, made certain that I consumed an ample amount of nourishment. And then, on the following day, a piece of news reached my ears that stirred a sense of urgency within me: Vera's grandmother had regained consciousness.

Without a moment's hesitation, I hurried to the clinic where she was being cared for. As I approached the door, my heart pounded in my chest, a mixture of anticipation and trepidation coursing through my veins. With a deep breath, I turned the handle and stepped inside.

There, sitting upon the bed, was Abuela, her gaze fixed upon the world beyond the window. A wave of uncertainty washed over me as I stood there, unsure of how to proceed. After much deliberation, I mustered the courage to call out to her, "Grandma Abuela?"

She flinched at the sound of my voice, but she did not turn to face me. It was as if she wished to avoid my presence altogether. However
