Chapter Sixty-nine: The Palace Without The King.

EMILY'S POV

I stood on the top of the castle walls looking down to the modern city, cars honking and beta littering the streets. The lights from the lamps that light the night outside, come in to signify that night was all too near.

Standing here and watching the city I administered over was supposed to be a delight but I felt so incomplete and unable to enjoy it at all.

Lucien left with Lucas and Liam three days ago but it seems it has been ten years since they left because I'm alone in the palace. I missed them. He took Abel with him too. Andy was still on suspension so basically, I was alone.

Hurrying footsteps came to my hearing, interrupting my thoughts. My eyes went to the left, waiting for the owner of the footsteps to show his face.

The man came into view immediately. He was in the robe of the council. He looked quite upset. I heaved, looking away.
