Aliyah POV“Fuck,” I shouted. I had been trying so hard to fix the hairpin in the right direction on my well-permed hair. It would tilt sideways at intervals, and I would have to straighten it. Maybe I was looking at the mirror for too long. If Carey was here, maybe. My mind flashed to the last time I had seen her – body bagged up, headed to the morgue. It was a gory sight, one I never expected I would see Carey in. Kelan had told me how everything occurred; how she grew in rage after Jason shot himself, and fired at an officer. A bullet in her chest, and another buried deep into her head killed her instantly. “Fuck. You didn’t have to die like that, Carey,” I cursed, and soon fell to the ground, my face soiling with tears. I didn’t mind my wedding dress, as I kept pounding the floor, taking the hurt from every nudge I gave the hard floor. She was my best friend for as long as I have lived. The only person who could stand beside me on a day like this. She didn’t have to betray me
Aliyah’s pov"Cheers to the good old days!" I say, rising my glass of Hennessy into the air. "It's been a roller coaster ride and I'll definitely miss you guys." The fresh air at the rooftop hit me full force, making me shiver. I used the excuse of the cold to wrap my arms around Jason. One look at him and I knew he was already craving me. "Happy graduation day baby," I muttered seductively. "Congratulations to us all." Carey said, glancing round and lifting her glass in the air to a toast. "To more happy years!" Everyone else on the rooftop yelled. I laughed out loud when I saw all of our friends engrossed in dancing. I and Carey were already tipsy. We had been drinking all day. I had been a good child from zero to - I was turning 24 tonight, I and Carey are both turning 24 tonight - it was a good enough reason to get drunk and not be a good girl. I and Carey quietly sat back at a small corner table, enjoying the city view while we watched our classmates have fun. Where had
The police officers arrived at the station, and led us to the counter, we quietly followed."Mom!" I and Carey screamed when we saw both of our mothers discussing with the police officers."Glad you're here, they arrested us unlawfully." I said to my mother, mustering up my spirit. "How did you know we were here?"Mrs. Elsa looked at Carey and I in vexation. I knew what my mother was thinking. That I and Carey had started following the bad kids they always warned us about."Mom.." Carey moved to Mrs. Thelma, her mother. "Tell them to let us go right away, how dare them?!" She turned to fully face officer Jerry. "My father can get you arrested, I just need to put a call across to him.""Not when I was the one that ordered for the arrest." Mrs. Thelma moved her glare from Carey to I. I immediately looked away."You what?" Carey asked, made a face and cursed. "Mom! Have you gone insane?""Mom," I moved closer to her. "What's Mrs. Thelma saying? You guys had us arrested? Why?" My voice wa
I met Jason at our favorite hotel. It belonged to his father and currently under Jason's supervision. We were both in one of the rooms in the hotel, our favourite room.Jason bent and kissed me, slow and deep while he rubbed his erection against my belly."Jason.." I pulled away. "My mom is probably looking for me by now, what is important that couldn't wait until tomorrow?""Tomorrow is my elder brother's wedding," He cleared his throat and straightened. "He's getting married tomorrow.""Oh..okay.." I said patiently, waiting for the part that was important. "Kelan?"He nodded. "But there's a big problem..""Tell me.." I silently wished nothing was wrong somewhere."His bride to be was kidnapped the early hours of this morning.." He broke into tears."What?" My voice softened and I moved closer to pull him into my embrace. "I'm so sorry to this..this is disheartening..how? Why?""Envy and jealousy.." He held my hands. "They're always envious of my family.."I shut my eyes close, remem
An elegant looking woman pushed the bedroom room door open, but didn't come in, she remained at the door. "I guess you have met my first son, i mean your husband?" She asked. "You both should have a splendid wedding night." She chuckled then slammed the door.I recognized her face as one of the few people that were in the hall. I raced after her and caught up with her in no time. "Excuse me ma'am.." I tapped her shoulders.Mrs. Rosa scowled over that and brushed off my hand. "Don't you ever put your dirty hands on me, ever again, do you understand me?"I swallowed hard, nodding. "I'm sorry." I needed my dark mood to be cleared. I had so many questions and I needed answers to all of them. "I want to see Jason, please ma." I forced myself to look into her eyes."Oh no, don't worry about Jason, get busy and worry about Kelan, your husband." She said in an obvious mocking voice."There's something you need to know, I can't keep it to myself anymore." My voice was breaking. "Please hear me
ALIYAH’s POVIf wishes were horses, a beggar would ride one, they say. I wished the floor could open up and consume me that minute as I stared at the semi lifeless body. The whole memory of my friend and my lover replayed in my head and I felt so bad. I had been so gullible and foolish. My whole life had been a lie. The people I called my friends and centered my whole life around had turned my life to a joke. Wiping off the tears from my eyes, I stood up and walked to the body. There he was, laying peacefully. I was immediately filled with so much anger and hatred for the young man despite his state. If he didn’t exist, I wouldn’t be in this mess that I was. My whole life would not have taken a negative turn…. Or maybe it would have taken a more complicated dimension?Heading out of the room where he was kept, I proceeded to the living room. The sweet moment and memories we shared clouded my mind. Was it all a joke? Did I really mean nothing to him? “Your husband must not lack anyth

Aliyah’s POV It was so hard… so hard to realize I was all by myself now. There was no one to stand by me or fight for me. “You should spend the night over. I miss you. I miss your presence.” He whined. Deep within me, I scoffed. Missed me indeed. I faked a smile.“I do too but.. I am married to your brother and your mother… she would be very upset with me if I do not tend to him. Please, try to understand.” I pleaded once again. He stared at me for a couple of seconds, his hands on the arm of the chair. “Alright then. Should I drop you off?” He questioned and I shook my head. “I do not want to breed suspicions. I have to leave now.” I responded and headed out immediately before he could object. Although he tried to accompany me to get a cab, I walked briskly. I didn’t want to see his face at that moment else I could break down in tears and that would be very horrible. Throughout the ride, I was down. I was heartbroken. It was still so hard to come to terms that I was all alone as
