My present emotion was disheveled, what exactly was Janet thinking registering me for the competition without my consent.

“Melissa, don't tell me you are pissed right now,” she dropped her phone and dragged her chair beside me.

“You don't think it's enough for me to get pissed?” I asked, still holding the approved form in my hand.

“Okay, calm down. Why are you angry?” She asked. Then it dawned on me. Why was I truly angry? She only did me a favor, why should I be mad at her?

I relaxed, replying honestly. “I don't know why I'm angry.”

“I know how much you want to draw or paint or bask in the world of art. You are in love with it but just because a man broke you mentally doesn't mean you should stay there. You have to find yourself Mel, you have to fight for yourself.”

I twitched my nose at her. “Are you really giving me motivational speeches right now?”

“Well, it comes once in a blue moon. Accept it now because very soon, I'll be telling you to go fuck yourself.”
