CHAPTER 26: THE COMPETITION

With my handbag and my lunch bag strapped on my arm, I hurriedly walked into the staff room whilst checking at the time simultaneously.

All thanks to that asshole, I was 30 minutes late. Jane was sitting by my table, helping me with the student's assessment. She raised her head up just in time.

“You are late, that's so unusual of you,” she said.

“Well, all thanks to a certain someone,” I rolled my eyes and dropped my belongings. “I'll gist you later.”

“Your class is up in 5 minutes,” she said, standing up for me to sit. “Besides, the director has asked for you.”

“I'll see him as soon as my class is over,” I sat down and retouched my makeup.

I hurried to my class and just as usual, everyone was eager to see me. It wouldn't hurt to flatter myself a bit but I was the student's favorite art teacher.

"Morning class," I greeted, wearing the smile specifically reserved for my students.

"Morning Miss Melissa," they all responded, all giving me different shades of smile.
