Evelyn woke up to an incessant knock on the door. Not fully awake, she reached for her partner beside her but found the bed empty. She stood up with a groan. The day seemed to be going badly for Evelyn. First was the argument she had with Michael and now losing a patient. Although it was her fifth year already in the hospital, she still hated it when someone died in the operating theater. She headed down to the second OR to check on the other patient.
