31. The Funeral 3

“Oh! Thank you, barrister. That would be some other time.”

“It is all right. Have a pleasant day.”

The couple walked out of his office happily and headed to their house. They met George and Lilian attempting to fix lunch, and the couple was happy about that.

'It is a good thing that the domestic staff members were withdrawn; otherwise, my children would not know how to take care of themselves in our absence.'

Mr. Evans mumbled to himself in contentment.

“Welcome back, dad and mom.”

George and Lilian greeted one after the other while they opened the gate.

“Thank you. How are you?”

“We are fine. Did you succeed in paying my school fees?”

George asked his mom who was walking to the kitchen to inspect their food while her husband walked to the bedroom.

“Yes, I succeeded. Congratulations once again.”

“Thank you, mom, but when am I resuming?”

“You are resuming on Sunday evening.”

“Oh! Two days from today.”

“Yes. You have only tomorrow, to finalize your parking.”
