Chapter twenty eight

Vanessa's P.O.V

As the flashes of my first panic attack trickled down my memory, I could not help but feel pain shiver through my back. As I steadily opened my eyes, Alpha Marcus gaze was all I met. I was a bit ashamed that I'd let fear overpower me again, and to consider how strong of a tough persona I had put out.

"Vanessa, are you okay. You had me shook for a moment there." Alpha Marcus broke the silence. "Pass the glass of water." I responded weakly. He handed me the water but I was not really thirsty, I took a sip and I felt like I had regained my composure.

"Am okay, everything was just happening so fast." I suggested.

"No, it's not your fault. I put a lot of pressure on you, I'll just find another way to handle Alpha Ace." Alpha Marcus responded as he wore a reassuring look. I knew that Alpha Marcus was not really a true believer in my abilities and still perceived me as a weakling.
