108, OUTBURST

We were all seated on the round table, staring at the white wine and chicken breast on the table. I could remember the moment Lucian agreed to stay back; his brothers had followed suit too. It was something that made me slightly stunned, but I was still glad they’d stayed back. Yet, right now, the awkwardness was a bit too much and made my stomach twist painfully.

I heard a spoon clink on a plate, and it forced me to look up. Nikolai was looking at me with an angry expression on his face, and it made me shift against the soft cushions. This was not working at all, but what should I do?

"Why are we here?" He asked at last.

I took a deep breath. "I told you that I wanted to be on a date with you guys. It’s something that I have been meaning to do for a long time but haven’t gotten the chance to do. Now that you’re here, it makes me feel good."

"You’re lying," Nikolai blurted out.

I frowned as I looked at him. "What do you mean by that?"
