CHAPTER 26

Sonia's POV

I was bored, so I wandered through Michael's library, my fingers trailing over the spines of the books that lined the shelves. I had always loved getting lost in the musty scent and quiet atmosphere of a library, and Michael's was no exception. I got a glimpse of a golden coloured book, and instantly it caught my attention. I reached out to flip through its pages, but just as my fingers made contact with the cover, I heard the door behind me open.

Michael leaned against the door frame with his thumbs stuck in the loops of his garment. His teeth, so white shine even brighter in his wide grin.

I was already trembling in a spot. I was standing only a few steps from him, and the library, which was large, seemed close and confined. Suddenly the two of us were very alone. It was awkwardly intimate and highly disturbing.

For a moment I forgot what I was doing here in the very first place, forgot why I had come, and wanted to flee.
