CHAPTER 133

~3RD PERSON’S POV~

Maria’s house was quiet; the only sound that could be heard was that of an afternoon breeze blowing through her gardens. Maria walked around the large barn Derren built, feeding the livestock. She had already cleaned up the entire house and watered all the plants, and all that was left now was having breakfast.

She opened the front door and walked in. Her eyes had dark sacks underneath them, and her hair was a mess. She looked exhausted and weak, and she found it hard to walk around the house without bumping into random objects.

She staggered to the kitchen and served herself some spaghetti on a flat ceramic plate. She moved to the dining room and sat on one end of her table. As she placed her meal on the table, she stared at it for a moment, then picked up her fork. She stabbed the fork into the spaghetti strands, twirled it around, and as she raised it to her mouth, she stopped.
