CHAPTER 229~3RD PERSON’S POV~Lunaris and Maria stood in front of a large mirror in the restroom. Maria washed her hands in the sink below, and Lunaris fixed her hair and make-up. They were both silent and avoided looking into each other's eyes, even while staring at the mirror.“Are you having fun?” Maria asked with a smile.“Yeah… I think I am. Although I haven't really gotten to see as much of the city as I would like to,” Lunaris replied, smiling back.“Well, if you're not satisfied with tonight's outing, you can always come back for a proper tour with Steven. He also hasn't seen the city properly either, so I'm sure it'll be a wonderful experience for the both of you,” Maria said, turning to her.“I guess so,” Lunaris replied, and they both went completely silent. Lunaris stared at the sink as the water poured over her hands, and Maria just quietly stared at her. “I know you want to ask me a question; you don't have to be afraid about it. I don't bite, I promise,” Lunaris said
CHAPTER 230~3RD PERSON’S POV~Steven and Lunaris walked back to Derren and Maria. Lunaris carried the large teddy bear in her hands, and Steven’s hands were in his pocket. His eyes were focused on the ground, and his face was expressionless. As they approached Derren and Maria, he slowly raised his head.Steven's and Derren's eyes suddenly made contact. As if communicating with each other, they both smiled. “I think it's time we moved on to the next game,” Derren said.Steven nodded, then forcefully collected Maria's stuffed deer from her. "Here, Lunaris, you can have this one too,” Steven said with a soft smile, turning to Lunaris.“Hey, that's mine!” Maria exclaimed angrily. Derren stepped in front of her, saying, “Don’t worry, Maria, I'll handle this.” He turned to Steven and continued clearing his throat and folding his arms against his chest. “You better hand over that stuffed animal or I'll...” He got stuck; he couldn't remember his lines. “You will what?” Steven asked.“I’
CHAPTER 231~3RD PERSON’S POV~“Siege? Now that's a name to remember,” Derren said, turning around completely to face the man who now stood before him and Steven. Siege remained silent, staring at the two of them through his red, glowing eyes. His muscles had grown a lot larger than before, and he had now become taller—something was definitely wrong with him. His nails grew into black claws, and the building veins around his arms glowed faintly.“Something's wrong with this guy, Derren. I can feel the bloodlust of a raging alpha werewolf around him, but I can't feel his aura at all—it's like it's not even there,” Steven said, his brows furrowing. He knew that things were about to get a lot more serious.“You’re not wrong. And what's up with the black claws and glowing veins? It's like he's something out of a lab,” Derren replied.Siege suddenly vanished—he appeared before Derren, grabbed his face, and slammed his head into the wall behind him. Steven's eyes widened in shock as he sa
CHAPTER 232~3RD PERSON’S POV~Siege continued to launch rapid attacks at Derren and Steven, hoping to land a good hit on them, but all his efforts were to no avail. It had been over an hour, and his arms were starting to grow weak—fatigue had started to set in. The drug that gave him his werewolf abilities started to wear off, and he could no longer put the same amount of strength into his attacks as he used to. Derren and Steven, on the other hand, looked like they could keep this up until daybreak—they hadn't even broken a drop of sweat. They were still in an isolated and dark area in a corner of the amusement park. They had already made so much noise that they were sure security would come after them soon. Steven landed on the ground, and Derren landed lightly on a dumpster.Seige stared at them, breathing heavily, his eyes half closed. His snout, fangs, and claws had grown a lot shorter than before, and his eyes glitched between their normal color and bright red. “It looks like
CHAPTER 233~3RD PERSON’S POV~Derren and Steven arrived at the Mortimer mansion a while later. The warrior wolves opened up the gates, and Derren drove in. “How could we have let this happen? I should never have left her by herself,” Derren said worriedly, with fear and concern in his eyes. He parked the car, and they both got off. “Derren, you shouldn't worry yourself too much. Maria is with Lunaris; I'm sure she won't let anything bad happen to her,” Steven said with a reassuring tone in an attempt to calm Derren down.Derren was about to reply when Lunaris's voice sounded. “Hey boys, welcome home.” Derren and Steven turned in her direction and saw her standing a short distance from the parking spot in her bright-grey dress. She had a soft smile on her face and a small crown on her head, laced with white gems that sparkled under the moonlight. Steven and Derren rushed to her quickly.“I thought you were kidnapped,” Steven said, placing his palms on Lunaris's shoulders.“Where’s
CHAPTER 234~3RD PERSON’S POV~“So, how has your stay on earth been, Lunaris?” Mary asked. She and the others were now in a small living room inside Steven’s mansion. The room was lit up by numerous candles standing on a large chandelier hanging at its center and a few other candles on the walls. There were multiple doorways in the room that led to other larger areas of the mansion. Only four long couches, a coat rack, and a glass table that stood inside a square created by the couches were in this room. Mary and Herculia sat on one couch, and Edith, Nicole, and Lunaris sat on the remaining three. Even in the dimly lit room, Lunaris's dress glittered beautifully, like it had diamond particles sprinkled all over it. “My stay on earth has been quite an experience. Being a mortal has been a bit difficult, but I'm slowly adjusting. Cleaning, lifting heavy objects, some more cleaning, and even eating—it’s all been really fun,” Lunaris replied.“Wow, it seems you're really sticking to thi
CHAPTER 235~3RD PERSON’S POV~“Uhhh… I'm so sorry; I didn't know a meeting was going on in here,” Clarabelle apologized, frantically gathering the pieces of cake on the ground and placing them back on her tray. Lunaris smiled and replied, “It’s alright. This place is just a junction inside the mansion anyway. Anyone can come in and go out as they please. In fact, you're the reason we're having a meeting here today.” “I am?” Clarabelle asked.“Yes, come sit with us,” Lunaris answered softly.Clarabelle looked around, then wiped the crumbs of cake from her mouth and walked toward the couches with her tray. She placed the tray of cake on the table in the middle of the room and sat beside Edith. “Hi, everyone,” she said nervously, forcing a smile on her face. “Is it true?” Mary asked.“What?” Clarabelle turned to her with a puzzled look.“That you're an Immortal like Edith,” Mary said with curiosity beaming in her eyes.Clarabelle looked around, and a smile slowly formed on her face.
CHAPTER 236~3RD PERSON’S POV~“Here. This is where the bell sounds the loudest when it rings. This is the best place to begin our search,” Clarabelle said with a soft smile on her face. She stopped walking and rested her fists on both sides of her waist. She, Nicole, and Mary had arrived in a large hall in the Mortimer mansion. The hall had no windows but had multiple chandeliers hanging from its ceiling, acting as its source of light. The hall was designed with black and brown flower paintings that spread on the floor and up its walls. Over 20 different passages were connected to this one hall, and those passages were also connected at different parts of the building, forming a maze-like structure. Maids, who had lived in the mansion for very long, knew their way through every passage, but new maids needed to at least have a map or a guide during their first month of working in the mansion.“This mansion is even larger than I thought. How are we supposed to know which passage the b
